5.Do you treat players differently based on their avatar’s gender?

1. Male
2. No
3. Because I'm a male
4. I think female characters are male players in general. I think 99% of the players are male. But that feeling is not based on proof or facts.
5 No
6 Can't see how
7 No
8 No, my character is an extension of myself in the virtual world and I'm a man so I create a male character.

1. Male
2. Yes
3. Variety. I have 16 character slots, I can't make them all men.
4. Always.
5. I try not to, hell, I don't know if I do.
6. No.
7. See 5 above.
8. Generally no, unless I really like the game. I don't like to lie, so I try to play a male so people know.

4.Do you often suspect anyone else of playing a gender not their own? yeah
5.Do you treat players differently based on their avatar’s gender? meh, sometimes, well i'm nicer to chick characters but i still dont give them any special treatment when it comes to actually getting something done in the game, do it themselvess..cause its probably a dude haha
6.Have you taken advantage of your characters gender? no, no one gives male characters special treatment
7.If you know someone is playing a character of a gender not their own, do you treat them differently? no, if i know a guy is a playing a girl character, i treat them like a guy

3) I don't want others to think I'm a girl... and it's just messed up.
4) Sometimes
5) No, except for calling them a he or she
6) No...?
7) Maybe, might laugh at them
8) Only if I don't have a choice, ex: tomb raider or other mmorpgs where you can't choose gender

1-male
2-No.
3- Instinct, I guess. And I try to make my characters look a bit like me. If I ever make a fourth character, I might make a girl so I can hear the female voice acting, but I'm not sure even if I will make a fourth character.
4-Don't really pay attention. However, if a "woman" is being incredibly flirty, I assume it's actually a guy.
5-I'm instinctively slightly more polite to "women". I'm a bit old-fashioned, that way. Since I'm usually the only person in the room who uses full sentences and no abbreviations, I doubt they notice.
6-Well, if my character was female, I couldn't be the bluesman (inside joke). Besides that, no.
7-Not usually, though I have some contempt for those discussed in point 4.
8-well, games with a fixed main character who is female, of course. Maybe if the male voice-acting was really lame, or the female voice-acting was really good.

1. Male
2. Yes
3. Staring at a male character hurts my eyes. I'd prefer to stare a female character in the long run.
4. All the time. Just because someone plays a male/female character is never true they are that gender in real life.
5. No
6. No, I say right out I'm male and they just treat me like a guy.
7. No
8. With GWs, the freedom to make each character male/female is always a plus. In a previous game, when you registered, you had to choose a gender and all your characters were locked for that gender. If given the choice, I'd still play a female character. Sorry if I'm being a pig but females are just better to look at. Simple as that.

1 female
2 yes....I have 3 characters in gw that are male that I play regularly
3. when I made my first monk---the female choices were HORRIBLE (dont go for the bun head look), so I made a male, my male rit was nice to look at and my male necro was just because I wanted to show people that necros can be ok looking.
4 yeah most people on gw like to play other genders (and my husband has more female characters than male---he has ONE male character that he created so we can play together).
5 no, should I?
6 just how would you do this---its only pixels on the screen...
7 no why should I?
8 if the creation screen offers horrible choices for my intended character then I will probably make one of the opposite gender......though I havent as of yet made many male characters in any game I have played.....

7.Yes, because I find it a bit strange.
8.No. I'm female. Why would I play more male chars?

To males that play females to have something to stare at: They're pixels. should u really be staring anyway? ew.
If most male characters didn't look like they want to take a fat one in the pooper, more people would play them. The fact that 90% of the armors look better on female characters also supports this.

2. Yes.

4. I generally assume the player is male until proven otherwise.
5. Nope.
6. No, but I take advantage of mine. ;]
7. Of course not.
8. It depends on the game. Some games have bonuses inherent to male or females of a species, so I'd choose based on bonus abilities.
